From Monday 13th April 2026 or when possible, the Governors of Neyland Community School are seeking to appoint a Qualified Teacher to work within our new primary school Learning Resource Centre (LRC). This is an exciting opportunity to join a very new LRC and contribute to its development.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate would be expected to contribute to the establishment of a team of motivated professionals who will work collaboratively to raise standards at all levels. The applicant must create a positive, nurturing environment where pupils are encouraged to meet their potential. Specialist training will be provided.

Qualifications and Criteria
  • Applicants must be an excellent classroom practitioner who can effectively lead and develop specialist resource base programmes for children with complex ALN
  • Ability to differentiate and facilitate learning to the highest standards
  • Ability to build positive relationships with learners, their families and the LRC team
  • Ability to create a supportive, welcoming, and well-ordered classroom environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of the 2018 ALN reform and Code of Practice

Specialist education experience is desirable, as is the ability to foster positive working relationships to ensure the smooth operation of the LRC. The successful candidate will be highly motivated with high expectations for pupils' learning.

What We Offer

We offer a warm, nurturing school community underpinned by a strong ethos and the support of a hardworking, committed team of staff and governors. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of and to shape the practice in our school.

Estyn and School Context

Our most recent Estyn Inspection (March 2023) noted many strengths:
Neyland Community School is a place where pupils, staff and families feel welcomed and supported. The school has a strong caring ethos and a culture of teamwork with the local community. The school provides a rich, broad, and balanced range of learning experiences and additional provision.
