DESIGN TECHNOLOGY TECHNICIAN - EMSWORTH (SECONDARY)

Prospero Teaching is seeking a reliable, organised, and proactive Design Technology Technician to support a secondary school in Emsworth from 13th April 2026 until the end of the academic year in July (excluding half term).

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a creative and supportive DT department, ensuring lessons run smoothly by preparing materials, maintaining machinery, and helping create a safe, engaging learning environment for students. The school offers a welcoming team, clear guidance, and a highly collaborative atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing, organising, and maintaining materials and resources for DT lessons
  • Supporting practical sessions across Resistant Materials, Product Design, and related DT subjects
  • Ensuring machinery, tools, and equipment are safely set up, maintained, and stored
  • Assisting with demonstrations and supporting students during practical tasks
  • Monitoring workshop safety and promoting safe working practices
  • Maintaining an organised prep area
  • Working closely with teaching staff to ensure lessons are well‑resourced and efficient

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Have the Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
  • Provide professional references covering the last 24 months
  • Have experience working with DT machinery, tools, or workshop environments
  • Be confident supporting practical lessons and maintaining a safe workspace
  • Hold relevant workshop, DT, or technician experience (school‑based experience desirable but not essential)
