Overview
andstad is seeking energetic and highly accurate Warehouse Associates to join our client's distribution team in Hauppauge, NY. This essential role involves executing core fulfillment tasks: scanning, accurately picking, and efficiently packing customer orders. Responsibilities- Order Picking & Scanning:
- Locate and retrieve inventory items from designated warehouse locations according to order sheets or RF scanner/WMS instructions
. - Utilize RF scanners to confirm product location, verify item numbers, and update inventory counts to maintain high accuracy.

- Packing & Shipment Preparation:
- Inspect items for damage or defects before packing.
- Securely pack orders using appropriate materials (boxes, padding, void fill) to ensure safe transit.
- Affix shipping labels, verify addresses, and prepare finished packages for loading and shipment.
- Material Handling:
- Assist with general warehouse duties, including stocking shelves, organizing inventory, and performing light receiving tasks.
- Utilize manual equipment such as pallet jacks or hand carts (certification/experience with forklifts is a plus).
- Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace at all times, strictly adhering to all company and OSHA safety standards.
- Experience:
6+ months in a warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing environment, specifically involving picking and packing. - Technical:
Proven ability to use RF scanners and/or other handheld inventory tracking devices. - Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand, walk, lift, bend, and move continuously for the duration of a shift, with the capability to safely lift up to 50 lbs. - Core Competencies:
Detail-oriented to ensure order accuracy and possess basic math and organizational skills. - Work Ethic:
Reliable, punctual, and capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team. - Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. - Experience level:
Entry Level;
Years of experience: 1 year.
- Salary: $18 - $21 per hour
- Shift: First
- Work hours:
8 AM - 4 PM
