THE ROLE:
Managing Consultant, Mobility

Job Summary:

Presidio is seeking a hands-on, player/coach to fill the role of Managing Consultant for the region’s Wireless/Mobility practice. The Managing Consultant role will include providing technical project oversight of basic and complex wireless solutions, team development, governance of technical and vendor best practices, and working with sales to provide industry best practices solutions. The candidate will be expected to troubleshoot complex environments and wireless technologies when required and solve issues involving escalations from team members and customers.

The Managing Consultant is expected to keep Presidio best practices documentation up to date as both technologies change and new methodologies are developed to implement the solutions we deliver.

Travel Requirements:

In this role, you will be expected to travel up to 25%. It will be based in Long Island, NY.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Drive successful services implementations for all wireless projects.
  • Develop team members' technical and professional skills, and create an environment that inspires them to learn and advance.
  • Plan, design, and implement complex solutions to ensure low-risk, trouble-free technology migrations and implementations.
  • Provide expert oversight for wireless assessments, including design, configuration, and recommendations.
  • In-depth technical troubleshooting and problem resolution of complex issues and assisting team members in solving problems with their deployments.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with pre-sales in the qualification and scoping review of new engagements.
  • Assure the highest standard of architecting, designing, and deploying solutions.
  • Work closely with project management to ensure engagements adhere to the scope, finish on time, and within budget.

Required Skills:

  • 10+ years of hands-on experience, along with extensive knowledge of wireless design, configuration, and troubleshooting, and usage of vendor best practices.
    • Design and configuration of Enterprise Wireless communication and authentication.
    • Configuring Lightweight and Autonomous APs, WLAN Controllers.
    • Wireless Bridging, outdoor/mesh, location tracking, wIPS, guest access.
    • Wireless surveys, site assessments, and audits.
    • Cisco Enterprise Wireless.
    • Aruba Wireless.
    • Meraki Wireless.
  • Expert-level experience with performing onsite wireless designs.
    • Ekahau Survey experience with Hospitals, Office Space, Outdoor, and Warehouse/Manufacturing required.
    • Ekahau ECSE Design certification preferred.
  • Experience with the following Network Access Control (NAC) products:
    • HPE Aruba Clear Pass.
    • Cisco ISE.
  • Hands-on experience of Core Routing and Switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting, and usage of Cisco Best Practices with:
    • Cisco SDA / DNAC.
    • Cisco ISE integration with wired data and wireless infrastructure.
    • Quality of Service understanding and configuration; able to customize across all Cisco platforms to support Voice, Video, and selected applications.
    • Routing protocols—OSPF, EIGRP, BGP.
    • IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS, Aruba

      OS.
    • WAN connectivity such as MPLS, Metro-E, SD-WAN.
    • Spanning-tree, VTP, Port Channels, Load balancing, SPAN.
    • Multicast PIM Sparse/Dense, MSDP.
    • NAT.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid interpersonal and presentation skills including client-facing consulting skills.

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Experience with one or more of the following Network Management (NMS) tools:
    • Aruba Central.
    • Cisco Prime.
    • Aruba Airwave.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
  • 2+ years’ experience with team leadership or management of a technical team preferred, or equivalent.
