Picks up, receives, sorts and delivers mail and packages, operates/maintains mail room equipment and maintains mail room supplies. Keeps accurate logs/records, and, as assigned, performs the duties of an Inventory/Supply Clerk.
Education And/or Experience- A high school education or GED required
- Minimum zero – one year of general work experience required
- Valid NY State driver’s license required
- Knowledge of mail room procedures, activities and equipment preferred
- Receives and distributes daily interoffice mail for delivery to departments in Headquarters
- Picks up mail at the Post Office and delivers it to the mail room on a daily basis
- Sorts incoming mail and maintains a log of all registered, certified mail received
- Receives and logs daily UPS/Fed Ex deliveries, checks items against original bills/documentation to ensure they are complete, and notes back-ordered items
- Picks-up and delivers mail and packages to departments in Headquarters according to established schedules and obtains required signatures
- Prepares outgoing mail and packages for shipment by setting postage meters for proper rates
- Prepares mail bags for delivery to branches and provides information on the status of mail and deliveries to department/branch staff as requested
- Maintains records of postage used, monitors postage meters and account balances, and advise the Manager of the need to replenish
- Monitors mail room supplies and advises the Manager of the need to reorder and receives supplies and ensures they are properly recorded and stored
- Inspects/cleans mail room equipment to ensure it is functioning properly, and advises the Manager of malfunctions, problems and required general maintenance
- Keeps the Manager informed of activities, issues, conditions, etc. and trains new staff as assigned
- Performs other duties as needed upon request from immediate supervisor

The good faith range for this position is $17.35-$18.90/hour. This range is an estimate based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
