Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Critical Care (FGH Intensive Care Unit)

• Evaluation of new patients and completion of History & Physical / Consultation notes
• Daily patient rounds and care planning and completion of Progress Notes
• Facilitation of safe transfer and discharge of patients into and out of the ICU
• Interpretation of test results including but not limited to: labs, blood gases and chest x-rays
• Procedures including but not limited to:
  Central Venous line insertion, arterial line insertion, endotracheal intubation
• Coordination of care with nursing staff, consulting physicians, and other members of the care team
• Assistance in management of emergencies including but not limited to CODE BLUE
• Communication with patient families
• Multidisciplinary rounds on both day and night shifts
• Completion of physician-assigned plans within appropriate scope of practice
• Adhere to mutually agreed upon clinical practice guidelines / scope of practice

• Nurse Practitioner:
• 1. Completion of Acute Care NP Program
• 2. Active Advanced Practice License

• Physician Assistant:
• 1. Active PA licensure
• 2. Current ACLS/BLS certification

7 days on 7 days off, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
