Purpose: This position supports the maintenance and engineering operations of the Mississippi plant to ensure the company's business, economic, and compliance targets are met.
Job Functions/Accountabilities (Essential & Marginal)Essential Job Functions:
- Leadership
- Provides SHE (Safety/Health/Environmental) leadership and direction by actively and positively supporting and developing initiatives for SHE improvement.
- Ensures safe operation of maintenance team providing training and enforcing safety rules and procedures.
- In conjunction with EHS team, effectively manage the LDAR program.
- Maintains policies and procedures required to maintain, strengthen, and support the IMS and PSM processes.
- Supports maintenance work planning/scheduling processes. Develop, implement, and track processes/procedures/metrics.
- Identifies ideas and executes initiatives to improve operational performance.
- Oversee contractor activities to ensure they comply with established company standards. Identify and maintain relationships with contractors when outside mechanical maintenance is required.
- Monitor and ensures integrity of the physical plant (buildings, roofs, etc.).
- Provide leadership to the mechanical maintenance resources, administering the maintenance processes and budget, monitoring performance indicators, and assisting in or executing capital projects.
- Mechanical Reliability
- Strives to lower manufacturing costs by identifying and championing reliability improvements to reduce maintenance cost and downtime.
- Provides tools and work processes to maximize plant uptime and minimize maintenance costs by improving equipment mean-time-between-failure and mean-time-to-repair rates.
- Ensures planned maintenance inspections (PM/PdM/MI) are completed in accordance with established schedules.
- Monitors maintenance activities for repetitive maintenance items and top reliability issues, then initiates improvement projects as necessary.
- Track / publish standard maintenance and reliability performance metrics in order to drive continuous improvement.
- Work with Corporate Reliability to ensure conformance to corporate guidelines with regards to reliability programs and practices.
- Ownership of site vibration program, including training technicians, and analyzing data for rotating equipment.
- Oversight of site lubrication program and identifying goals for continued improvement.
- Engineering support for maintenance in performing preventive maintenance (PM) and repair activities for critical equipment, including fixed and rotating equipment.
- Advise on proper execution and documentation of repair and preventive maintenance (PM) activities for both rotating and fixed equipment.
- Mechanical Integrity
- Maintain equipment records and documentation for site equipment.
- Ensure the Management of Change (MOC) and Mechanical Integrity (Ml) requirements under OSHA's Process Safety Management regulation are met.
- Ensure mechanical integrity practices are aligned with Zeon corporate standards.
- Review all PSM Mechanical Integrity inspection results for completeness and initiate appropriate corrective action as necessary to ensure reliability and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain all PSM equipment records in audit-ready condition.
- Knowledge in related fields such as non-destructive testing, welding, fabrication, and working with third party fabricators.
- Knowledge of API-510, API-570, and API-653.
- Capital Expenditures
- Participates in the development and execution of the plant's capital spending budget.
- Develops, manages, and executes capital and expense projects throughout the plant site from ideation through execution, ensuring startups are safe, on time and within the approved project cost.
- Identify, develop and execute cost reduction projects and projects to lower the carbon footprint of the site.
Education:
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience working in a chemical or refinery environment.
Broad technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment in a specialty chemical plant or refinery type operation required. Good understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance reliability techniques.
Must possess knowledge of current applicable PSM and Ml regulations to the industry (OSHA , API-510, API-570, API-653). OR (OSHA , ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, ASME Piping Code, and API Standards).
Other:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Strong MS Office and personal computer knowledge is critical.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously is essential.
Must have excellent business systems experience.
Ability to work flexible schedules as necessary is required.
Must be able to manage time in an environment of changing and multiple priorities.
