The School of Social Science and Global Studies at the University of Southern Mississippi seeks an adjunct instructor to teach political science courses either online or face-to-face. The primary responsibility is teaching a one-semester state and local politics course.

• Teach political science classes as needed.
• Attend program meetings as determined by the program coordinator.
• Follow all university, college, and school policies regarding teaching practices and job performance.
• Bereponsive to communication from students, staff, and administration.
• Hold regular office hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

18 graduate hours of Political Science. Graduate degree in a related field.

• Knowledge of language and culture in the teaching field; skill in delivering required knowledge and ability to engender learning in students.
• Use of Canvas and ability to teach online both synchronously and asynchronously.
• Ability to use Mindtap and work with online textbook materials.
• Professionalism in all activities, participating in a collegial, ethical, and responsible manner.
• Ability to respond to inquiries from students, staff, and administration in a timely manner.

Graduate degree in Political Science and experience with online teaching. Experience with Canvas.
