The University of Southern Mississippi is currently accepting applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor in French.

Location: Hattiesburg, 118 College Drive, Mississippi, , United States

Division: School of Social Sciences and Global Studies

Position Type: Faculty, Part Time

Salary Range: $3,000.00 - $6,000.00

Job Summary

The School of Social Science and Global Studies seeks an adjunct instructor to teach lower-level French courses, either online or face-to-face. The primary responsibility is teaching a one-semester beginning or intermediate French course.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach French classes as needed.
  • Attend program meetings as determined by the program coordinator.
  • Follow all university, college, and school policies regarding teaching practices and job performance.
  • Respond to communication from students, staff, and administration.
  • Hold regular office hours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 18 graduate hours of French.
  • Master's degree in French and experience with online teaching.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of language and culture; skill in delivering knowledge and fostering student learning.
  • Proficiency with Canvas for online teaching (synchronous and asynchronous).
  • Ability to use Mindtap and online textbook materials.
  • Professionalism and collegial conduct.
  • Timely responsiveness to inquiries.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in LMS course design.
