Position: Neighbourhood Officer (Temporary)

Neighbourhood Officer

Based in Welwyn

* Contract:

12‑week temporary assignment

* Hours:

Full-time 30 hours per week option

* Rate: £21.38 per hour PAYE

We are seeking an experienced Neighbourhood Officer to provide high‑quality tenancy, neighbourhood and lettings support within a busy Resident Services & Customer Contact environment. This role requires strong frontline housing experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work proactively across a wide geographical area without a set patch.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

* Deliver frontline neighbourhood management, including tenancy queries, estate inspections, and case management.

* Carry out lettings activities such as viewings, sign-ups, resident onboarding, and acting as the point of contact during the letting period.

* Undertake tenancy visits, audits, inspections, and general estate checks, ensuring issues are logged and resolved promptly.

* Manage caseloads effectively, ensuring deadlines are met and conflicting priorities handled professionally.

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with residents, partner agencies, and internal teams.

* Attend meetings, hearings, and resident‑focused activities, including occasional out‑of‑hours requirements.

* Provide a visible, responsive presence across all housing stock, ensuring estates are well-managed and residents are supported.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

* Previous experience working in a frontline social housing environment (Neighbourhood, Tenancy, or Housing Officer role).

* Strong background in lettings, viewings, tenancy sign‑ups, and resident onboarding.

* Up‑to‑date knowledge of Housing and Leasehold legislation and related case law.

* Able to work under pressure, manage conflicting demands, and meet deadlines.

* Strong IT skills, confident using Word, Excel, Outlook, and housing systems.

* Excellent relationship‑building skills with customers, partners, and stakeholders.

* Full driving licence with access to a vehicle and business‑appropriate insurance.
