Nex Gen Consultancy LTD is proud to be working on behalf of a long-standing client – a highly respected CNC precision engineering company based in Welwyn Garden City. Specialising in complex components for the aerospace, automotive, oil & gas, and defence sectors, our client is expanding their team and looking for a reliable CNC Operator with Turning experience to join their night shift operation.

The Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Operator to join a growing business in a stable, full-time, permanent position. You will be responsible for minding and maintaining CNC turning machines already set and running, ensuring smooth and efficient production overnight.

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate and monitor CNC turning machines on the night shift

* Maintain machine performance through routine tasks including oil and coolant changes

* Carry out basic tool changes and make minor adjustments as required

* Conduct visual and basic quality inspections of machined parts

* Complete relevant production documentation and logs

* Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment

* Report any issues or concerns to the night shift supervisor

Requirements:

* Proven experience operating CNC turning machines – essential

* Ability to carry out minor maintenance and keep machines running overnight

* Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision

* Good attention to detail and a quality-first mindset

* Strong communication and problem-solving skills

* Reliable and flexible approach to work

Working Hours:

* Night

Shift: Monday to Friday – 10pm - 6am (Hours can be flexible)

* Overtime opportunities available
