I’m working exclusively with a residential developer to appoint a Senior Technical Manager.

This is an opportunity to take a leading role within the technical function, working across a significant and expanding pipeline of residential schemes. The business has a strong track record in delivering high-quality homes, with a particular focus on timber frame construction.

This role will sit at the centre of the development and construction process, acting as the day‑to‑day senior technical lead, working closely with construction leadership and supporting the long‑term evolution toward a Head of Technical position.

As Senior Technical Manager, you’ll be responsible for ensuring developments are technically robust, buildable, and ready for delivery, from planning through to construction.

• Leading technical delivery across multiple residential schemes from planning through construction.
• Reviewing drawings and technical information to identify key risks, constraints, and delivery impacts.
• Coordinating consultant teams and ensuring outputs align with programme and construction strategy.
• Producing clear technical reports that highlight “need‑to‑know” items for construction and senior leadership.
• Managing utilities and infrastructure readiness, including water, power, drainage, and highways interfaces.
• Supporting construction teams with timber frame sequencing and on‑site delivery.
• Acting as a key interface between planning, engineering, and construction functions.

• Technical experience within a residential house builder or developer.
• Strong understanding of timber frame construction and sequencing requirements.
• Ability to balance technical detail with programme and delivery pressures.
• Confident communicator, comfortable collaborating with construction counterparts on a daily basis.
• Ambitious, with the potential to step into Head of Technical responsibility over time.
