Midwifery Educator

About the Role

As a Midwifery Educator, you will play a vital role in shaping excellence within our maternity service. Youll act as an expert clinical resource, providing teaching, coaching and evidenceinformed guidance that supports safe, culturally responsive, and high quality midwifery practice. Your work will include delivering workplacebased clinical education, coordinating orientation for new staff, supporting midwifery students, and helping colleagues grow their professional and clinical capability.

In this role, youll collaborate closely with the District Chief Midwife, Māori Midwife Lead, Midwifery Clinical Coaches and the wider Senior Midwifery Leadership Team to drive improvements, embed best practice, and contribute to service development. You will champion both clinical and cultural responsiveness, fostering a supportive learning environment that strengthens confidence, reduces stress, and helps build a resilient and capable midwifery workforce.
