Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Mountfield Heath School, Robertsbridge, TN32 5FA
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday to Friday
Salary: £22,160.62 - £25,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: March 2026

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support young people to achieve their potential in a caring, inclusive setting. Your role is essential for supporting pupils' academic learning, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one and small group support for pupils with additional and complex needs.
- Support the planning and delivery of creative, engaging learning activities alongside teaching staff.
- Encourage pupils' emotional, social, and physical development through patience, understanding, and positive behaviour support.
- Take part in a range of classroom-based and outdoor learning activities.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a consistent nurturing environment.
- Caring, flexible, and enthusiastic.
- Supportive team player.
- Confident working both indoors and outdoors.
- Passionate about helping children learn, grow, and succeed.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grades AC or 4 and above).
Mountfield Heath School supports autistic boys and girls aged 5‑11, many of whom have additional needs. Our independent special educational needs provision currently educates 45 pupils across large classrooms and dedicated outdoor learning areas. We aim to equip every child with skills, confidence, and knowledge to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Located in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, the school is easily accessible from Hastings, Royal Tunbridge Wells, and surrounding areas. For over 19 years, Options Autism has provided specialist care and education for children, young people, and adults with autism, complex needs, and learning difficulties.
