- $28.18 per hour

Reporting to the Principal, the Designated Early Childhood Educator will collaborate with the classroom teacher to plan and implement The Kindergarten Program (2016) to provide supervision and developmentally appropriate programming for students.
Duties and Responsibilities- Observe, monitor and assess the development of students in kindergarten, with the policy document such as Growing Success, The Kindergarten Addendum (2016).
- Partner with the classroom teacher to purposefully plan for student learning within Ministry guidelines, such as the Four Frames of The Kindergarten Program (2016), through assessment, including the process of pedagogical documentation.
- Collaborate with the teacher(s) and the special education resource teacher to develop, implement and monitor programming to support learning for students requiring an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
- Co-create and maintain a positive classroom culture that is healthy, caring, safe, inclusive and accepting to support self-regulation and well-being of all students.
- Assist children with washroom routines, dressing and nutritional routines.
- Minimum completion of a two (2) year Early Childhood Educator diploma
- Registration and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Over one year and up to two years combined related experience and on-the-job training to become familiar with Ministry and board policies and procedures related to Kindergarten programs
- Working knowledge of Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT) document
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset
