High School Girls Flag Football Assistant Coach

Hastings Community Education is seeking highly qualified candidates to serve as assistant coach for our inaugural season of high school girls flag football.

Candidates are desired to have successful coaching experiences, and/or related successful experiences in educational leadership. Candidates should have strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the commitment to develop and maintain positive relationships between the program and the local community.

This position reports to the Hastings Community Education Youth Services Coordinator along with the athletic director, who will provide overall job objectives and observe performance. This coach will coordinate and support the athletic personnel for girls flag football according to expectations of the Hastings Community Education Youth Services Coordinator and the high school athletic department.

This coach is expected to coordinate the instruction, training, and development of all athletes along with the head coach at this level in the sport; model a transformational, purpose-driven philosophy; represent a holistic definition of success; commit to personal development and collaboration; display a values-based approach as a coach who develops people first, and then the athlete; coach the athlete first, and then the skill;

coach the student-athletes before themselves; make a lasting, positive impact on the school community; have meaningful, rewarding personal coaching experiences.

Season begins April 2026 with one or two practices during the week and games running on Sundays starting April 26, 2026. There will be a required online coaching clinic February 19, 2026 or February 26, 2026 from 6-8pm. Additional clinics, training and game opportunities may be added as we receive more direction from league coordinators. If the team qualifies, the final tournament will be played Monday, June 8, 2026.

• Compensation for this position for 25-26 girls flag football season is $2000.
• This position does not qualify for benefits as it is a non-contracted position.
