Clinical Consulting Associates, Inc. (CCA) is seeking full-time clinical and/or school social workers (MSW: LLMSW or LMSW) to work within school settings in the Greater Benton Harbor Area for the remainder of the 25/26 school year (continued annual agreements available thereafter). Certification in School Social Work (SSW) is ideal, but a permit may be applied/issued by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) for providers willing to enroll in a SSW certification program (50% tuition reimbursement and additional compensation provided upon completion of SSW certification).

Positions will consist of various ages (K-12) depending on the school. General Education and/or Special Education student populations (Social, Emotional, Behavioral, Cognitive, Neurological and/or Developmental). Clinical supervision / consultation provided (individual and/or group).

Independent contractor (1099) or traditional employment (W2) is an option available.

Job Description

Ideal candidates value professional development, have strong leadership skills, and understand current trends in behavioral health and special education. Services include crisis intervention, counseling, case management, and supportive guidance to students who are facing difficult life challenges and/or disabilities. Successful candidates regard professionalism, customer service, timeliness, and teamwork. Ultimately, the provider will be instrumental in helping students, families, and school staff identify and address a myriad of issues that may be interfering with student learning and success.

They will act as a crucial link between the home, school, and community to provide comprehensive support and promote academic achievement and well-being.

Responsibilities
  • Work with students of various ages and issues
  • Provide case management, facilitation, and coordination of information
  • Participate in student IEPs with team members, parents, and/or staff, etc.
  • Engage with students, parents, and staff professionally and authentically
  • Foster positive relationships with students, teacher, and parents
  • Manage time while meeting deadlines and maintaining independence
  • Advance knowledge, creativity, and clinical skills to care for students better
  • Services to students will include providing individual and group counseling for issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger management, and conflict resolution. Assist students in developing social interaction skills and positive behavioral intervention strategies. Address issues like truancy, bullying, substance abuse, and other issues often facing students.
  • Services to parents/families will include helping families access and utilize school and community resources. Working with families to support their children's school adjustment and academic progress. Alleviate family stress to help the child function more effectively in school and the community.
  • Services to school personnel will include consulting with teachers, administrators, and other providers regarding insights into cultural, societal, and economic factors impacting student performance and behavior. Participating in multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) and special education teams, including the development of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Section 504 plans.
  • Services to the school district and community include serving as a liaison between the school, families, and community agencies to coordinate services and resources. Obtaining and coordinating community resources and advocate for new services to meet student and family needs. Assisting in developing and implementing educational programs for exceptional children or alternative programs for at-risk students.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
  • Licensure as a Limited Licensed Master Social Worker (LLMSW) or a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
  • Certification as a School Social Worker (or pending eligibility for certification in school social work) as designated by the state's Department of Education. We are happy to provide additional details on becoming eligible for this position by enrolling in an online school social work certification program in order to qualify for temporary school social work permit.
