DescriptionAs a Rental Equipment Technician you will serve and repair construction rental heavy equipment in the field. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy rental equipment, including engines, power trains, hydraulics and fuel systems.

Harvey, Louisiana (Louisiana Rents)
$60,000 – $72,000 yearly range (representative of hourly rate, including typical overtime). The range is based on experience, skills, education, and training. Overtime typically calculated daily after 8 hours worked.
Your Contribution- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all components of heavy rental equipment such as engines, power trains, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics, and specifications to determine repair methods for failed components.
- Replace or repair defective components using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
- Assemble and install electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment using hand or power tools.
- Rebuild, install, and align pump assemblies using safe rigging methods.
- Create, track and formalize work order documents on a timely basis.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Promote positive customer service for Louisiana Cat Rental Stores according to Caterpillar and Louisiana Cat expectations.
- Receive tools and building blocks to build a career at Louisiana Cat.

- Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Required: Minimum of 3 years of field experience.
- Required: Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Required: Basic understanding of hand tools.
- Required: Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Required: Ability to work in a team environment.
- Must own required tool inventory;

- Shift schedule:
Monday – Friday 7 am – 5 pm; may require work outside standard hours. - Work environment:
Requires physical movement, lifting, squatting, bending, climbing; exposure to weather extremes and mechanical rotating parts.
- Stand, use hands to finger and reach, lift 75 lb occasionally.
- Endure prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching and squatting while performing mechanical operations.
- Move arms in full range to retrieve stocked parts; exert push/pull forces to use wrenches and tools.
- Climb onto and operate equipment; operate field service vehicle with GVW < 26,000 lb.
- Indoor operation around moving mechanical parts; possible exposure to weather extremes, heat, cold, humidity.
- Noise level moderate, can be loud when equipment runs.
- Exposure to chemicals, dust, steam, high‑pressure water, high‑speed rotating equipment.
- Require wearing common protective or safety equipment and performing work in cramped spaces or high places.
