Overview

Retail Store Management Trainee – First Cash

Salary: $14.50 to $22.40 per hour. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in “fast-tracking” into a Store Management position. This role requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six months of Store Management experience. The Store Manager Trainee leads day-to-day operations in partnership with the Store Manager to develop store employees, recruit and retain talent, maximize financial goals, and manage customer relations. The role requires commitment to a customer-centric environment and achievement of financial objectives. The position may involve analyzing store financial statements, asset protection, and driving profitability.

The pay includes an hourly rate plus potential commission and performance bonuses; actual pay varies by location and experience.

Responsibilities of a Store Management Trainee
  • Facilitate a customer-centric environment and address customer issues promptly.
  • Assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
  • Recruit top talent through prescribed channels.
  • Open/close the store, manage cash drawers and merchandise, and protect assets.
  • Ensure asset protection through inventory control and safety procedures.
  • Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, and reporting.
  • Evaluate financial statements and drive profitability.
  • Maintain operating standards per First Cash guidelines.
  • Monitor loan qualification and buying processes for value and integrity.
  • Complete tasks and training for self-development; communicate store mission and profit objectives.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge; act as manager on duty in the manager’s absence.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Willingness to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, bending, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise others and work with firearms (certification may be required).
  • Ability to work in multiple locations and a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; 18+ years old.
  • Computer literacy and ability to operate POS systems; strong multi-tasking, organizational, analytical skills; cash handling experience.
  • Store Manager Trainee will work 45+ hours per week; hours based on business needs.
  • Excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
