Travel Nurse RN - Rehabilitation

Overview

TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN in Rehabilitation for a 13‑week assignment at a Rehabilitation Hospital in Harvey, Illinois.

• Provide direct patient care to individuals with neurological, orthopedic, or other rehabilitation needs, including stroke recovery, spinal cord injuries, joint replacements, or brain injuries.
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other members of the rehab team to develop and implement personalized care plans that support patient recovery goals.
• Regularly assess patients' physical and mental condition, monitor vital signs, neurological function, and progress in therapy; adjust care plans as necessary based on patient response.
• Administer medications as prescribed, monitor for side effects, and ensure proper dosage and timely delivery; assist with pain management strategies to promote patient comfort during rehabilitation.
• Educate patients and families about recovery goals, rehabilitation techniques, safety precautions, and strategies to promote independence in daily activities.
• Respond to medical emergencies, including sudden changes in condition, respiratory distress, or cardiac issues, and act quickly to stabilize patients when needed.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date patient records, documenting assessments, treatments, and progress toward rehabilitation goals in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Assist with discharge planning, ensuring patients and families are prepared for post‑discharge care, including home modifications, continued therapies, and follow‑up appointments.
• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, case managers, and social workers—to provide comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s needs.

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a rehabilitation setting.
• BLS certification (mandatory). Additional certifications may be required before assignment.
• Must be eligible for state licensure.
• Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift with proper body mechanics.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Empathetic, patient, and skilled in promoting recovery and independence.

Job . Pay package based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
