Job Description
Join Ingalls Memorial Hospital, trusted by Chicago’s Southland, as a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) in the Behavioral Health department.
Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $15,000!
ResponsibilitiesUnder the leadership of the Director and Clinical Supervisor, perform supportive work in the delivery of patient care, including functional tasks and skills. Utilize interactive processes that exceed patient expectations, provide high quality, cost‑effective care and treatment. Demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to unit‑specific competencies appropriate to age groups, as delineated in the Center’s Scope of Care.
Work in partnership with other Patient Care Team members, pro‑actively assist physicians, and identify and provide for individual patient and family needs.
- Must hold a current Illinois RN License
- Must hold a current BLS License
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; ADN required
- Good knowledge of the principles and practice of psychiatric and addiction treatment
- Completes annual department competency checklist
- Facilitates assigned groups encouraging maximum patient participation and interaction appropriate to functional level
- Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills with patients, families, physicians, and co‑workers; ability to function in an extended team environment and work in a fast‑paced setting
- Prior experience working with patients with addiction issues
- Previous Behavioral Health or related experience providing care to patients within at least the last five years

The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. The range is based on a full‑time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed annually. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.
Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
