Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in an urban Level I Trauma Center, requiring an active IL RN license and prior trauma ED experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the Emergency Department of an urban Level I Trauma Center
- Patient ratio is 1:4
- Requires prior experience in a teaching hospital setting
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other units is required
- Uses Epic charting system
- Responsibilities include providing emergency care to a diverse patient population in a high-acuity setting
- RTO requests are limited to a maximum of 7 days and are not permitted in the first or last week of the contract
- Former staff must have a 7-month break in service before being eligible for a travel position
- Block scheduling requests are not accommodated
- Participation in a team environment with support from cross-disciplinary colleagues is expected
- Active IL RN license required (must be in hand at time of application)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an urban, Level I Trauma Emergency Department
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI
- Experience working with Epic EMR preferred
- Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility
- First-time travelers are accepted
