This position is located at the Milliken Dewey Plant in Inman, SC, and reports to a production manager. A Chemical Operator is a key role in the chemical manufacturing processes. Qualified Chemical Operators will be able to work safely as a team in a chemical manufacturing environment, learn chemical processing and obtain multiple job certifications to progress to top pay. Entry level associates will rotate on a 12-hour shift (first-third rotation) and will learn basic chemical and material handling skills.

• Operation of a forklift.
• Operate process computer to manufacture batches.
• Complete pour up of chemicals with directions.
• Fill/Bag product up to 50 pounds.
• Basic chemical blends.
• Perform physical/chemical testing in local monitoring station as required during chemical processing.
• Fill out necessary batch sheets, computer sheets, records, logs, and charts.
• Actively participate in plant safety program/process.
• Lift various raw materials and manhandle drums less than 50 pounds.
• Contribute to process improvement and innovation.
• Attend and actively participate in all process meetings (Daily Team Maintenance Meetings, etc.).
• Be responsible for shutdown of equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform other assignments as required by the production manager.

• High School Diploma.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be able to climb multiple steps, lift 50 pounds on a regular basis, pass medical clearance and wear a full-face respirator.
• Computer experience, Windows-based software.

• High level of computer skills.
• Prior experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
• Forklift experience.
• SAP experience.

• Sitting: up to 50% of the day.
• Standing: up to 95% of the day.
• Moving: up to 25% of the day.
• Lifting: up to 35 lbs without assistance (percentage varies).
• Ascending/Descending: ability to walk stairs or use ladders as needed.
• Bending: ability to bend or stoop.
• Visual Acuity: adequate to read printed and computer information as required.
• Cognitive: ability to make decisions, reason, and understand information.
