Hydrotherapy Aide

Job Summary

The Hydro-therapy aides work under the supervision of Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Assistants. They will perform designated tasks related to the operation of the physical therapy service. The hydro-therapy aide needs on-the-job training, and their duties may include assisting patients and performing clerical and physical tasks as assigned.

• Perform assigned by PT/PTA procedures, under the supervision of a physical therapist/physical therapist assistant (whirlpool, PROM, ambulation with resident, orthotics application)
• Observe residents during treatment for responses and report to the therapist
• Secure resident onto therapy equipment (whirlpool tab)
• Perform full body assessment prior to hydrotherapy
• Transport non-ventilator residents to/from treatment area
• Provide accurate and reliable PT services documentation within timely manner.
• Keeping the work environment safe and clean,
• Maintaining therapy equipment that is used for therapy sessions
• Recommends modifications and changes in the resident`s therapy treatments as indicated.
• Responsible for reporting any change of a resident`s condition to the Children`s Habilitation Center leadership team. Coordinates and assist with care as directed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, meetings, and in-services as needed.
• Serve on, participate in, and/or attend various committees as required
• Collaborate with other disciplines regarding resident`s care.
• Abides by CHC policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
