Position: Practice Manager – OBGYN, Full-Time, Days

Job Description:

Be a part of a world‑class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine Care Network, as a Practice Manager at our Harvey clinic. Here, you will work with our OBGYN team. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology offers a personalized approach to world‑class obstetrics and gynecologic care.

Our expert faculty and staff provide a full spectrum of general and specialized obstetric and gynecologic care. From preventive well woman exams and prenatal care to minimally invasive surgery and high‑risk pregnancy care, our team offers the latest advancements in reproductive health.

Essential Job Functions
  • Day to day management of practice operations. Including:
    Establishes staff schedule and daily assignments.
  • Responsible for time and attendance and monitoring overtime.
  • Oversight of practice specific issues with IS, facilities, EVS, supplies, etc.
  • Ensures practice compliance with regulatory agencies (i.e. JCAHO, IDPH, CAP/CLIA).
  • Collaborates with providers and staff to ensure efficient patient throughput. Actively monitors performance metrics and daily reports to make real time adjustments. Ensures patients and family’s needs are met.
  • Participates in service recovery at the point of issue.
  • Ensures necessary follow‑up.
  • Responsible for performance management and performance evaluations for all employees.
  • Monitors the operating budget for labor and non‑labor expenses.
  • Oversees charge entry, denials, disputes and billholds.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare and customer service, ideally overseeing an ambulatory practice framework.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to manage large and complex organizational units with varying needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with physician leaders, preferably in an academic medical center environment.
  • Exceptional talent in the selection and mentoring of a high‑quality team.
  • Proven ability to use data to drive performance improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation & Benefits Overview

UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits. The pay range provided reflects the anticipated wage or salary reasonably expected to be offered for the position. The pay range is based on a full‑time equivalent (1.0 FTE) and is reflective of current market data, reviewed on an annual basis. Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.

Pay ranges for employees subject to Collective Bargaining Agreements are negotiated by the medical center and their respective union.
