Job Summary:The GSRP Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities for school aged children in a safe nurturing environment. This role uses strong leadership skills, creativity, and excitement for working with children. Some responsibilities include preparing activity schedules, organizing recreational and enrichment activities, and ensuring the safety of all children.
Required Qualifications:- Valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate and a ZA (Early Childhood Specialist) OR ZS (Early Childhood Special Education) endorsement OR Birth-K or PK-3 endorsement.
- A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education.
- GSRP Teacher must meet the most recent credentialing requirements per the GSRP Implementation Manual for Program staffing. Position offer is contingent upon official transcript review and approval.
- Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold
- CPR and First Aid Certified
Qualifications:
- In depth understanding of Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies Gold On-line Assessment Tool
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of best practices in child development
- Ability to work with at-risk and special needs students
- Must follow all childcare licensing rules and regulations
- Demonstrate effective classroom management skills
- Possesses a caring, creative, energetic personality
- Uses innovative teaching techniques to actively engage all students in the learning process
- This position requires long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
- The position requires occasional lifting of supplies and movement of classroom furnishings during the course of the school day.
- Work takes place both indoors and outdoors, with the possibility of some travel to other schools or field trip locations.
Beginning with the 25-26 School Year
Wages:$44,380 - $48,002 per year
Benefits:Retirement, medical, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, and paid time off per the bargaining unit contract
