OverviewThe nature of equilibrium fluctuations of ions, atoms and electrons on their native pico-attosecond timescale determines their dissipative properties and ultimately the limitations on device efficiencies. We are building an experimental system to probe these fluctuations in real time. We invite applications from postdoctoral candidates who are interested in this problem and who are equipped with the tools to address the challenges surrounding building such an experimental toolkit;
from ultrafast optics to spatial resolution and statistical data analysis.
Contribute to the development and operation of an experimental toolkit for probing ultrafast fluctuations. Work across the areas of ultrafast optics, high spatial resolution techniques, and statistical data analysis to support real-time measurement and interpretation of pico-attosecond dynamics.
Qualifications- PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or any field with relevant skillsets.
- Expertise in digital signal processing, nonlinear optics, local probe microscopy (STM), statistical physics and on-the-fly high throughput programming is sought, but the list is not exhaustive.
- Strong grasp of mathematics will be given additional consideration.
