Job Title:
Continuous Improvement Engineer
LHH Recruitment Solutions is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our client's organization in the Harvard, IL area.
Key Responsibilities- Foster a culture of continuous improvement across production and facility operations.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify improvement ideas and support implementation.
- Collect and analyze operational data to troubleshoot issues, eliminate waste, and reduce downtime.
- Develop actionable project plans and lead teams through execution and completion.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives using tools such as Kaizen, 5S, process mapping, root‑cause analysis, error proofing, and visual management.
- Manage multiple improvement projects simultaneously while meeting timelines and deliverables.
- Communicate effectively with associates, production leadership, and support departments to ensure alignment.
- Establish, update, and standardize processes to drive operational improvements.
- Implement or refine workflows to increase productivity and optimize yield.
- Conduct product costing analysis and support cost‑reduction initiatives.
- Coach team members in Lean methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
- Identify performance gaps and drive transformation of existing systems or processes.
- Support environmental reporting and compliance requirements, as needed.
- Follow company quality standards, safety rules, policies, and participate in 5S activities.
- Participate in ongoing training and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or continuous improvement roles (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts, CI tools, and problem‑solving techniques.
- Experience working with data and databases to support analysis and decision‑making.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software such as AutoCAD or Solid Works.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced production environment.
