Job Summary:
The BCBA will provide support to individuals and their families by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, function analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills.
Qualifications:
- Master in Psychology, Education, Special Education, or a related field
- Candidate must hold a Professional Educator License
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification
- Preferred Applied Behavior Analysis experience

Terms of Employment:
This position is based on a 190-day work schedule, with salary and benefits determined by the Board of Education. Employment terms are subject to the guidelines outlined in the Related Service Agreement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide model teaching and other direct instructional support, including class instruction and in-service instruction, to other support professionals.
- Provide support on assessments, plan development, and ongoing program data analysis to ensure student progress.
- Assist in the development, facilitation, and follow-up training in Applied Behavior Analysis, using both discrete trial training and natural environment teaching models.
- Facilitate and assist in developing and identifying resources and support information for students and their families.
- Provide ongoing support and training to program staff and other stakeholders in support roles for families.
- Ongoing training of paraprofessional staff in implementing ABA principles and methodology and behavior reduction strategies.
- Create an ongoing data collection system to establish a baseline and programmatic efficacy for all stakeholders and to analyze data frequently to guide programming.
- Collaborate with program teams to develop behavior plans for all students, focusing on teaching and other strategies for reducing problematic behavior(s).
- Keep current with the literature, new research findings, and resources. In addition, continuing education courses to maintain BCBA certification are necessary.
- Manage a schedule to provide support across multiple teams within the district.
- Maintain all data, paperwork, and communication between program staff and families, as well as supporting outside agencies.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as determined by the principal or designee or as needs arise.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to demonstrate competence in behavior management skills, instructional skills, oral and written communication, organizational skills, and interpersonal relations.
- Ability to work with various students regarding age and functionality and with minimal direction.
- Knowledge of Discrete Trial Training (DTT) programming and implementation.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands of this position include frequent sitting and standing for extended periods. Repetitive bending at the waist and kneeling, stooping, and crouching to assist students are also required. Regularly walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
