Tax Associate – entry level position at H&R Block in Poplar Grove, IL. This role offers the opportunity to work with an expert team that provides the tax training needed for success. You will have flexibility, support, and the chance to grow your tax expertise.

• Conduct tax interviews with clients face‑to‑face and via virtual tools (video, phone, chat, email).
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support.
• Support office priorities through teamwork and collaboration.
• Grow your tax expertise.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (preferred).
• Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.
• Ability to work a minimum of 25‑35 hours weekly during tax season and up to 40 hours during peak weeks.
• Success in the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course.
• Comfort using virtual tools (video, phone, chat).
• Effective communication skills in person, phone, and writing.
• Must meet all IRS and state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent (or higher).

$11.00–$27.00 per hour.
