Position Title: Carpenter ($24-$32/hour)
Reports To: Superintendent
Position SummaryConstruct and repair building frameworks and structures made from wood and metal. Installation of millwork carpentry, doors & other specialty items.

Essential Functions / Position Responsibilities- Ability to follow blueprints and building plans to meet client needs
- Construct and install structures and fixtures
- Ability to measure, cut or shape wood, plastic, and other materials
- Construct building framework, including walls, floors, and door frames; help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
- Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
- Ability to work on staging / above ground
- Taping experience is a plus
- Willingness to perform non-carpentry tasks as needed (cleaning, demo, floor prep, etc.)
- Maintain cleanliness in occupied work environments
- Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers
- Work in a safe, OSHA‑approved manner
- Maintain a positive attitude
- Show a strong work ethic and effort toward all assigned tasks
- Willingness to learn new tasks
- Share knowledge & help train others
- Demonstrate consistent attendance
- Communicate & collaborate clearly with the team
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Hiring Requirements / Preferences- Minimum of 2 years of commercial carpentry experience
- Proficiency in metal & wood framing
- Experience with drywall
- Millwork and casework installation
- Doors, frames, and hardware installation
- Must be able to travel to the assigned jobsite(s)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Proficient at reading blueprints, or ability to learn
- Minimum tools required: tape measure, hammer, utility knife, tool belt, speed square, chalk line, torpedo level and driver index. HP Cummings will provide power tools
- Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
- Excellent time‑management skills and ability to multi‑task and prioritize work
- Experience with computers and technology is a plus
- OSHA 10 training preferred, but will provide
- Working hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Please arrive early enough to start work at 7:00 am and be prepared to work until 3:30 pm.
- Overtime may be offered to stay on schedule
- Must be able to travel to the jobsite(s) as assigned
