Carpenter, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor

Position Title: Carpenter ($24-$32/hour)

Reports To: Superintendent

Construct and repair building frameworks and structures made from wood and metal. Installation of millwork carpentry, doors & other specialty items.

• Ability to follow blueprints and building plans to meet client needs
• Construct and install structures and fixtures
• Ability to measure, cut or shape wood, plastic, and other materials
• Construct building framework, including walls, floors, and door frames; help erect, level, and install building framework with the aid of rigging hardware and cranes
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
• Ability to work on staging / above ground
• Taping experience is a plus
• Willingness to perform non-carpentry tasks as needed (cleaning, demo, floor prep, etc.)
• Maintain cleanliness in occupied work environments
• Instruct and direct laborers and other construction helpers
• Work in a safe, OSHA‑approved manner
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Show a strong work ethic and effort toward all assigned tasks
• Willingness to learn new tasks
• Share knowledge & help train others

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Minimum of 2 years of commercial carpentry experience
• Proficiency in metal & wood framing
• Experience with drywall
• Millwork and casework installation
• Doors, frames, and hardware installation
• Must be able to travel to the assigned jobsite(s)
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Proficient at reading blueprints, or ability to learn
• Minimum tools required: tape measure, hammer, utility knife, tool belt, speed square, chalk line, torpedo level and driver index. HP Cummings will provide power tools
• Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner
• Excellent time‑management skills and ability to multi‑task and prioritize work
• Experience with computers and technology is a plus
• OSHA 10 training preferred, but will provide

• Working hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Please arrive early enough to start work at 7:00 am and be prepared to work until 3:30 pm.
• Overtime may be offered to stay on schedule
• Must be able to travel to the jobsite(s) as assigned
