Position Description
Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Hartford, Connecticut.

- Hourly Pay: $32.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter
- Sign On Bonus: $1,750 at 30 days and $1,750 at 90 days
- Tool Box/Tool Allowance
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends off - Hours:
First Shift 7:00 am – 3:00 pm

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
- At least two (2) years of classroom training and work experience in required experience, preferred
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
- Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures or conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints once assigned a task
- Utilize key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with all federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, e.g., Service Island support
