Residential Installer

Overview

Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT. Entry level role installing and programming burglar alarms, CCTV (IP & analog), DVRs, and access control systems for residential customers.

• First week:
  Complete LMS training classes while on site at a branch office.
• Second week:
  Field training; observe senior technician perform work.
• Third week:
  Install equipment under senior technician tutelage.
• Fourth & fifth week:
  Continued training until capable of independent work.
• Install and program burglar alarms, CCTV (IP & analog), DVRs, and access control systems.
• Install window breaks, door units, and smoke detectors.
• Troubleshoot signal issues to ensure alarm functions properly.
• Perform daily hands‑on field interaction with customers at the site level and some smaller customer care levels.
• Test and verify signals for equipment.
• Train customers on device usage, connectivity, and answer all questions.
• Complete necessary customer paperwork for each job.
• Determine and record cost of all parts used for each job before closing out with dispatch center.
• Maintain accurate truck inventory of products.
• Provide top‑quality customer service.
• Achieve 90% goal attainment for completed installations and zero “go‑backs”.

• Background or education involving hands‑on mechanical work and customer service, preferably outside work.
• Ability to install add‑on devices to existing customer security systems.
• Experience with security alarm systems preferred; capable of addressing service tickets.
• Great communication, reliability, adaptability, interpersonal skills, quick‑thinking, customer‑centric attitude.
• Excellent problem‑solving and non‑verbal cue reading abilities.

• 6‑foot ladder (can use a fold‑up Little Giant if driving a sedan).
• Screwdrivers, preferably an electric drill.
• Wire cutters and hacksaw.
• Hand sheetrock saw (if needed).
• Personal Protective Equipment provided by TEKsystems.
• Uniform polo shirts provided by TEKsystems.

Entry Level

Contract to Hire; fully onsite in Hartford, CT.

Pay range: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour.
