Security Systems Installation Technician (Entry Level)
Overview: We are seeking motivated individuals with hands‑on experience and strong mechanical aptitude to join our team as Security Systems Installation Technicians. Ideal candidates have worked in roles involving physical labor, customer service, and outdoor environments. You will install add‑on devices to existing customer security systems and, if experienced in security alarms, assist with service tickets. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in security technology with comprehensive training provided.
TrainingProgram
- Week 1:
Complete training at a branch office - Week 2:
Field observation with a senior technician - Week 3:
Hands‑on installations under supervision - Weeks 4-5:
Continued training until independent proficiency
- Install and program burglar alarms, CCTV (IP & Analog), DVRs, and access control systems for residential customers
- Install window breaks, door units, and smoke detectors
- Troubleshoot signal issues and ensure proper alarm functionality
- Perform daily on‑site customer interactions and provide exceptional service
- Test and verify equipment signals
- Train customers on system use and connectivity
- Complete all required paperwork and cost reporting for each job
- Maintain accurate truck inventory of products
- Achieve 90% installation goal with zero "go‑backs"
- Experience with alarms, security systems, CCTV, IP cameras, low‑voltage wiring, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with cable installation, crimping, wire wrapping, and construction basics
- Ability to work with tools and perform installations in residential environments

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, adaptable, and solution‑oriented
- Ability to read non‑verbal cues and instill customer confidence
- Strong problem‑solving skills and customer‑centric attitude
- Required: 6‑foot ladder (foldable recommended), electric drill, screwdrivers, wire cutters, sheetrock saw
- Provided: PPE kit and ADT uniform polo shirts
Reliable personal vehicle required
Compensation & Perks- Mileage reimbursement: $100/week for gas (with receipts) after training
- Additional mileage reimbursement for travel over 300 miles/week
- Overtime opportunities available
Entry Level – This is an excellent role for a person who just finished a Technical School, or someone looking for a Career Change. We are looking for someone with excellent customer service and likes to work with their hands.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
