My client is a leading independent energy advisory firm, seeking a results-driven Energy Efficiency Sales Consultant to expand their energy efficiency and decarbonization practice. This role combines technical expertise with consultative sales, engaging commercial, industrial, and institutional clients to identify and implement cost-effective strategies that reduce energy costs, improve asset performance, and advance sustainability goals. The ideal candidate has a hunter mindset, strong client-facing skills, and hands-on experience with efficiency projects, audits, or performance-based solutions, guiding opportunities from concept to contract.

The Energy Efficiency Sales Consultant will be responsible for:

  • Prospect and develop new energy efficiency opportunities within commercial and industrial accounts
  • Utilize technical expertise to scope projects such as lighting upgrades, HVAC optimization, building automation, retro-commissioning, and other efficiency measures
  • Collaborate with engineering and delivery teams to prepare savings analyses, proposals, and implementation plans
  • Manage the sales cycle from lead generation through closing, meeting revenue and performance targets
  • Build lasting client relationships and position the firm as a trusted advisor for ongoing efficiency and sustainability initiatives

The Sales Consultant will have:

  • 3-10 years of experience in energy efficiency, energy services, or related fields with a strong sales or client-facing component
  • Proven ability to develop and close business for technical solutions (e.g., efficiency projects, audits, ESCO offerings, or performance-based contracts)
  • Solid understanding of efficiency technologies, project economics, and savings validation principles
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of simplifying complex technical solutions for clients
  • A self-starter, entrepreneurial mindset with the drive to thrive in a target-driven environment
