DescriptionPosition Purpose
In the Adult Behavioral Unit at Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides inpatient care for adults experiencing acute or chronic mental health disorders.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and mental health conditions, including withdrawal symptoms and psychiatric stability.
- Administer medications as prescribed, monitor for side effects, and provide patient education on medication management.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers.
Required:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- The ideal candidate will have one or more years of Mental Health;
Substance use treatment or Behavioral Health acute inpatient setting experience. - BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Full Time: 36 hrs/week-Day Shift
- Every Other Weekend/Holiday
Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital’s Behavioral Health Services include a full range of mental health and substance abuse treatment programs for all ages. Common to all of our programs is a dedicated, multidisciplinary team approach to developing an individualized plan of care for each patient. The focus of our treatment is to draw out people's strengths and competencies to assist them with coping more effectively in times of significant challenge or difficulty in their lives.
