$28.00/hr - $41.00/hr

81 Retreat Ave HH Core Bldg (10067)

Shift: 36‑hour day/night, every other weekend, every other holiday.

Job Summary

In critical care, our nurses are highly skilled and trained, helping to provide expertise at the bedside and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. The Neuro‑Surgical ICU is a 17‑bed adult inpatient unit caring for critically ill neuro‑science and neuro‑surgical patients. Our patient population consists of stroke, head and spinal cord trauma and brain hemorrhage. These patients require nurses who specialize in monitoring intracranial pressures, brain tissue oxygenation, and hemodynamic monitoring.

RN’s in this specialty also must have a family‑centered approach because of the critical nature of our patients. We work closely with our Neuro‑intensivist, Physician Assistants and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses to provide the highest quality of care for our patients.

Qualifications
  • Current Connecticut RN License.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school (BSN Required).
  • BLS certification by the American Heart Association, ACLS certification, and proof of Arrhythmia Certification required prior to date of hire.
  • Minimum one year Acute Care RN experience strongly preferred.
  • In exceptional circumstances, experienced ASN/ADN nurses currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
