Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Role Scope
Advanced Practitioners at Hartford hospital practice Emergency Medicine (ED) / Emergency Room (ER) in a very busy level 1 trauma center alongside residents and attendings. Advanced practitioners see patients from every triage level.

At Hartford Health Care newly graduated and experienced providers are provided with the support and mentorship they need to succeed through on the job, classroom, and procedural training. Our benefits include:
Exceptional physical assessment skills required. 6 months experience assessment/diagnosis/treatment of health disruptions and trauma conditions. Suturing, minor surgical skills, splinting/casting, gyn exam (job or preceptorship experience). Strongly preferred: minimum 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine. Proficiency with minor surgical skills essential.
Required:
Strong communication skills. Demonstrated ability to positively interact with medical nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Strong customer service skills with a focus on quality and efficiency. The ability to positively react to a busy, demanding, and dynamic clinical atmosphere with varying patient volumes, acuities, and medical problems. FNP / PA-C: graduation from an accredited FNP / PA program (Elective rotation in Emergency Medicine strongly preferred), Masters degree preferred.
APRN / PA CT license, current certification, Federal DEA license required.
