Overview
Neurosurgery - Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant
Location:
85 Seymour Street - HHMOB (10117) | Shift: Mon-Fri

Role scope includes involvement in neurosurgery with opportunities for clinic and operating room work as a first assist, in collaboration with a neurosurgeon and a team of experienced advanced practitioners.
Responsibilities- Participate in work-up, planning, and surgical procedures, including advanced cranial and spine surgeries (craniotomies for epilepsy, tumors, and trauma; complex spine cases)
- 1:1 training with a neurosurgeon
- Clinic duties and operating room time as a 1st Assist
- Collaborate with a team of advanced practitioners with substantial Neurosurgery experience
- Establish patient-centered care and contribute to multi-disciplinary planning
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program
- Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut
- Certification or eligible for certification as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an APRN
- RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) certification required for APRN
- Preferred >1 year of Surgical PA experience in Neurosurgery or Orthopedics; 1st Assist in OR preferred
