Position: Supervising Nurse (40 Hour) Office/On-site #260113-5922FP-001

Capitol Region Mental Health Center (CRMHC) , under the umbrella of the State of Connecticut , Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), is seeking to hire a Supervising Nurse .

IN ADDITION TO THE BASE ANNUAL SALARY, YOU MAY BE APPROVED FOR AN ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION BONUS:

Each Registered Nurse who is permanently assigned to the second or third shift may be eligible to receive a “recruitment and retention” yearly bonus of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00). This bonus shall be prorated for part-time.

In order to be eligible for this bonus, the employee must have completed one year of service in the registered nurse classification.

  • Provide leadership and guidance in developing and maintaining nursing standards, which will enhance the delivery of essential services;
  • Provide administrative and clinical oversight, including supervision of professional nurses and paraprofessional and all other staff;
  • Conduct annual performance evaluation;
  • Identify educational gaps for all staff to assist in the development of annual staff competencies.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

  • Plans, organizes and directs health services for an assigned program, unit(s), facility or geographical area;
  • Ensures that goals, objectives and work performed are consistent with standards and that quality care is provided to individuals;
  • Provides clinical guidance to nursing staff;
  • Selects, develops, motivates and evaluates staff;
  • Conducts performance evaluations;
  • Monitors the quality of documentation, records and other information concerning services and care;
  • Ensures that resources are available to provide quality services;
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services;
  • Participates in the development of long-range plans for health care programs;
  • Acts as a liaison with other units, agencies and outside organizations;
  • Prepares, analyzes and evaluates reports and other information concerning the delivery of services;
  • Responds to psychiatric or medical emergencies;
  • May physically restrain individuals;
  • May oversee all nursing operations in the absence of the Director of Nursing;
  • Performs related duties as required.
