IntroductionThe State of Connecticut, Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) is accepting applications from current agency employees for a Health Program Supervisor position in Hartford.
Position Highlights- First Shift.
- Permanent, Full Time position (40 hours per week).
- Monday - Friday.
- Location:
450 Columbus Boulevard in Hartford. - Hybrid role that offers the flexibility to work remotely at times.
The Health Program Supervisor's duties include but are not limited to:
- Directing staff and operations of the division at the direction of the State Program Manager – Health Information & Outreach.
- Assisting in the coordination, planning and management of division activities.
- Scheduling, assigning, overseeing and reviewing work of staff.
- Researching and responding to complex inquiries from consumers, staff, and a variety of stakeholders.
- Providing staff training and assistance.
- Assisting and providing input in the development of related policy.
- Assisting in the formulation of program goals and objectives and tracking their progress.
- Negotiating and being accountable for actively pursuing continuity of funding received by program.
- Working with internal staff to evaluate and develop statistical and technical reports and other related data regarding drugs, medical devices, cosmetics, medical marijuana, and adult‑use cannabis.
- Working with other agencies in the development of agreements for the purpose of data sharing.
- Attending meetings and conferences with or in place of the Director or State Program Manager.
- Other related duties as required.
The mission of the State of Connecticut, Department of Consumer Protection (DCP) is to promote a fair and equitable marketplace and to ensure safe products and services for consumers. The department is comprised of several divisions, each of which oversees the different industries that it regulates.
The Drug Control Division oversees compliance and enforcement of all laws and regulations concerning the sale and distribution of drugs within Connecticut as well as the administration, compliance and enforcement of the state's Prescription Monitoring Program. This includes all pharmacy inspections, auditing of different organizations within each program, investigations of health care professionals for improper prescription, diversion and misuse of controlled substance medications and issuance of all license types associated with the drug industry.
