About the Role: NAFI Connecticut is exploring candidates for a detail-oriented and strategic Director of Budgeting and Reporting (Hybrid) to join our finance leadership team. This is a key position that works directly with internal program leadership and external state agencies to ensure financial accountability, efficient budgeting, and accurate reporting.
Responsibilities Include:
- Serve as the primary liaison with Connecticut State Agencies like DCF and DDS for financial reporting and communication
- Collaborate with program leaders to create, manage, and update annual budgets
- Interpret and apply contract terms to budgeting and settlement processes
- Lead initiatives that improve internal business processes and financial systems
- Analyze data and trends to support informed decision-making
- Drive results through cross-functional collaboration and strategic influence

Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of Accounting and Finance experience with 1 year experience creating budgets
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical, executive functioning, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Connecticut government state agencies
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration
