Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.

As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?

At Travelers, our Enterprise Operations teams strive to deliver differentiating customer and agent experiences, help drive top-line revenue and underwriting results, and foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and efficiency across the Enterprise. As an Associate Operations Manager, with guidance and direction, you will develop your leadership skills by leading a small team of Operations professionals, coaching and mentoring to build a highly effective team and drive business results.

The team may be comprised of virtual, hybrid, and/or onsite employees.

What Will You Do?

  • Establish and communicate clear expectations and engage in timely, consistent, and effective coaching and performance management; this includes attracting, motivating, developing, and retaining talent.
  • Develop the skills to build and maintain positive and impactful relationships with internal and/or external partners.
  • Deliver business results through the usage of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)/Objectives and Key Results (OKRs); proactively use data to track, analyze, and manage individual and team performance; utilize available recognition programs to highlight strong performance.
  • Monitor business operations to ensure compliance with SOX/regulatory requirements.
  • Reinforce business strategy to achieve business objectives.
  • Identify and share opportunities to improve business processes and workflows; support new approaches, methods, and technologies to drive innovation aligned with the business strategy.
  • Develop and model the behaviors to accept change; influence others and execute implementation of change management efforts.
  • May support projects and initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • One year of experience managing people or projects.
  • Three years of insurance, operations, or related experience.
  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty products and services.
  • Desire to lead and inspire team members to achieve optimal results in a highly collaborative and matrixed organization.
  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to various audiences.
  • Relationship building skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and/or external partners.
  • FOR EBRM ROLES:
    Business and financial acumen as it relates to billing and receivable management with the ability to make financial decisions that balance customer needs and company financial expectations.
What is a Must Have?
  • One year of insurance, operations, or related experience.
