Job Summary
The Associate Attorney will play a key role in handling sophisticated civil litigation matters from inception through resolution. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys hands-on litigation work, and values flexibility, teamwork, and professional development. Success in this role comes from strong advocacy skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with experienced colleagues.
Responsibilities- Independently manage a civil litigation caseload from initial pleadings through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation-related documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare written memoranda to support case strategy
- Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Develop and execute effective litigation strategies in collaboration with partners and team members
- Communicate regularly with clients, experts, and opposing counsel, including providing status reports
- Ensure compliance with court rules, deadlines, and internal case management standards
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the Connecticut State Bar or eligibility for admission via UBE score
- 3 to 8 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or a related practice area
- Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions
- Strong legal research, writing, and discovery skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management abilities
- Salary range: $105,000 to $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience
