The Division of Criminal Justice is recruiting for a Part-time Data Intel Analyst for the Hartford Judicial District in Hartford, CT. This position is for 20 hours per week during normal business hours Monday through Friday with core hours to be set. This position is part of a grant-funded research study program that is taking an in-depth look at the volume and type of cases in the community court, and in relation to the identified needs of the community to ensure alignment.
The Hartford Community Court Enhancement Project requires staff for data collection and analysis. The Part-time Data Intel Analyst will collect and access crime trend data that is not widely used in prosecutorial decision making. This data will include charges, demographics, crime locations and patterns, and social services.
- Identify and collect crime trend data from local jurisdictions to better prosecute and adjudicate criminal cases, particularly detecting cases involving persistent offenders
- Identify and collect treatment and case disposition data to assist court social workers in more effectively treating defendants while still holding them accountable for their actions
- Identify and collect case processing and disposition data to assist our research partner, the University of Connecticut
- Act as the primary contact for data collection matters with our research partner and the court
- Maintain working relationships with Hartford Community Court partners and stakeholders for the sharing of information
- Demonstrated experience in data collection and interpretation
- Experience working with a research team
- Three to five years of professional experience working in either the legal or law enforcement field or court system
- Excellent organizational skills
- Capability to work independently as well as in a team
- Capability to collaborate with other state agencies and nonprofit human services organizations
- Strong data gathering, analysis, and interpretation skills
- This is a grant-funded pilot program.
