We are seeking a dedicated, detail‑oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of family law, experience navigating the family court system, and strong communication skills when working with clients, attorneys, and court personnel. Exceptional organizational abilities and initiative are essential. In this role, you will support the attorney throughout all stages of family law cases, ensuring that documentation is prepared, filed, and managed accurately and efficiently.
You will play a key part in assisting clients, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and maintaining strict compliance with court rules and deadlines.
Work Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of family law documents, including petitions, motions, and discovery requests.
- Manage and organize case files using document management systems to ensure easy access to information.
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support case preparation.
- Perform data entry tasks related to client information and case management.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information for cases.
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents as required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of family law regulations.
- Collaborate with attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare for court appearances and depositions.
- Ensure compliance with all administrative procedures and deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar role within a law firm, specifically in family law.
- Proficiency in document management systems and legal research tools such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.
- Strong data entry skills with attention to detail for accuracy in documentation.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills to manage multiple cases effectively.
- Strong legal drafting skills with the ability to create clear and concise documents.
- Effective communication skills for interviewing clients and collaborating with attorneys.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
