OverviewWe are seeking an OS & Application Engineer to build, package, test, and deploy operating systems and enterprise applications across a mixed environment. This role focuses on creating reliable, secure, and repeatable OS images and application packages using automation and Dev Ops best practices.
You’ll work across Windows, Linux, and VMware platforms and collaborate with Dev Ops, Security, QA, and Release teams to ensure high-quality endpoint and virtual machine deployments.
What You’ll Do- Package, test, and maintain OS images and enterprise applications
- Build and manage standardized “gold” images with current patches and security baselines
- Support deployment across desktops, laptops, virtual machines, and bare-metal systems
- Use automation and CI/CD pipelines to improve build and deployment workflows
- Maintain version control and rollback capabilities for OS images and applications
- Support PXE/iPXE-based provisioning and hardware compatibility
- Manage VMware templates and lifecycle maintenance
- Maintain and troubleshoot Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Perform testing and validation (UAT) before production releases
- Create and maintain clear documentation for builds, deployments, and rollbacks
- Experience with OS imaging, application packaging, and deployment in enterprise environments
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux systems
- Familiarity with automation tools (Ansible, Salt Stack, SCCM, Altiris, or similar)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version-controlled workflows
- Scripting skills in Power Shell, Bash, and/or Python
- Understanding of patching, security baselines, and compliance requirements
- Experience supporting VMware environments
- Ability to troubleshoot deployment and automation issues
- Experience with PXE/iPXE provisioning
- Experience with automated testing (Jenkins, Python-based testing)
- Familiarity with enterprise change management and audit requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred
- Equivalent experience and certifications will be considered
