Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.

As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

Travelers is seeking an AVP, Architecture to join our organization as we grow and transform our Enterprise Technology Solutions organization. Our Architects are responsible for designing and guiding the technology vision that enables business transformation, specializing in creating enterprise-wide solutions that bridge current capabilities with future possibilities. This strategic position requires expertise in cloud-native technologies, APIs, AI/ML, and emerging platforms to establish scalable architectures where business applications can evolve and thrive.

The ideal candidate orchestrates the technical strategy that empowers development teams - defining target states, creating technology roadmaps, and establishing architectural frameworks that accelerate innovation while maintaining standards and governance. As the essential bridge between business strategy and technical implementation, this role directly impacts organizational agility, system integration, and the enterprise's ability to rapidly adapt and scale technology solutions across the business landscape.

As a leader, you will provide visionary leadership that inspires architectural excellence while mentoring talent and fostering collaboration. What Will You Do?

• Scope
• Responsible for leading one or more architecture teams within one or more major segments or domains for a single business unit.
• Technical Execution:
• Define target state technology architecture and roadmaps.
• Ensure alignment of initiatives to target state, enterprise standards and business objectives.
• Proactively identify opportunities to capitalize on technology advances through analysis of key industry and technology trends to assess potential impact on the enterprise.
• Define and lead large technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions.
• Champion continuous transformation to optimize business and technology outcomes, including to minimize technical debt.
• Strategic Accountability:
• Provide strong thought leadership in pursuit of modern architecture principles and technology modernization
• Engage closely with and influence senior leadership within Technology and Business to develop architecture priorities and direction to enable business imperatives.
