The Director of Enterprise Analytics and Modeling is a strategic leader responsible for advancing Connecticut Children’s use of analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) to improve patient safety, quality, and organizational performance. Reporting to the Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer, this role drives the vision, strategy and execution of enterprise-wide analytics and AI initiatives. The Director builds and leads a high-performing team, partners with executive and clinical leaders, and ensures that analytics and modeling are effectively integrated into decision‑making, operations, and innovation.
This position also plays a key role in shaping a data‑driven culture by teaching, coaching, and mentoring leaders and staff across the organization.
- Strategic Leadership & Governance – 25%
- Co‑develop and execute a comprehensive analytics, AI, and predictive modeling strategy with the Analytics and AI Leadership Strategy Committees, aligned with Connecticut Children’s mission and goals.
- Serve as the organizational source of truth for statistical analyses and advanced modeling, ensuring initiatives are rigorous, reliable, and impactful.
- Partner with executive and clinical leaders to identify, diagnose, and solve organizational challenges using data‑driven insights.
- Act as a liaison between federal/state AI regulations and hospital‑level AI use to ensure appropriate, ethical, and safe implementation, prioritizing patient safety and data privacy.
- Maintain awareness of healthcare and emerging technology trends to ensure Connecticut Children’s remains a leader in patient safety, quality, and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety protocols, and health regulations.
- Program & Team Development – 25%
- Co‑direct the Transformation Department and lead curriculum design, development, and delivery of advanced analytics modules for the Organizational Excellence Program.
- Build, lead, and mentor a high‑performing team of data scientists, analysts, and AI specialists, creating pathways for growth and development.
- Provide training, coaching, and curriculum development for leaders and staff to strengthen data and statistical literacy.
- Teach and coach participants in the Organizational Excellence Program on data collection, analysis, visualization, and interpretation to support their projects. (30+ annually).
- Train and coach leaders and the Operational Excellence team on data analytics and statistical methodologies to eliminate wasteful data collection and reporting.
- Act as a transformational leader, teaching, coaching, and facilitating teams to embrace a data‑driven culture and drive organizational change.
- Analytics & AI Deployment – 25%
- Lead the development, deployment, and integration of cutting‑edge analytics and AI solutions into clinical, research, and operational workflows.
- Partner with Operational Excellence to establish shared dashboards, metrics, and evaluation tools that enable real‑time tracking of organizational priorities.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for AI/ML applications (including Generative AI) to enhance care delivery, patient safety, and operational efficiency.
- Measure ROI and business value of data, analytics, and AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
- Oversee and manage a portfolio of enterprise analytics and AI projects, including prioritization, sponsorship, resourcing, and barrier removal to ensure timely completion and sustained outcomes.
- Evolve the current analytics operating model and engage stakeholders to align expectations on analytics deliverables.
- Support the implementation of a population health strategy through advanced data analytics and monitoring.
- Eliminate wasteful reporting practices and encourage efficient, value‑added analytics strategies.
