IBM Watson Assistant Conversational AI Chatbot Developer
Location:
Hartford, CT (Hybrid)

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent, with minimum 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Good experience in 5+ years of software delivery.
- Must have 3+ years of chatbot development experience with IBM Watson Assistant or similar chatbot conversational AI tools (Google Dialogflow CX, Live Person, Amazon Lex, Kore.ai).
- Must have 3+ years of training and improving intent recognition by curating the appropriate training data sets.
- Must have 3+ years of applying conversational AI best practices (e.g., NLP and training data best practices).
- Must have 1+ year of experience in CI/CD, Git, unit‑testing, and source code management.
- Must have 1+ year of knowledge of cloud development and deployment principles.
- Must have the ability to design and develop AI conversations with responses coming from outside APIs via cloud functions or integration with other systems, applying clean coding skills and best practices.
- Collaborate with UI designers and backend application integration teams to understand the mechanisms through which the conversational AI solution will be used and what is needed to fulfill intents; collaborate with teams and other developers to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain a chatbot.
- Troubleshoot bots, debug, and deploy chatbots on various channels (voice/chat).
- Leverage AI, NLP technologies and cognitive machine learning to develop chatbot applications.
- Integrate chatbot solutions with multiple platforms.
- Enhance user effectiveness of the conversational agents with the help of advanced technologies.
- Continuously develop knowledge of emerging technologies and analytics techniques and support the pursuit of business development opportunities.
- Tune and enhance speech‑to‑text models.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- Apply strong industry knowledge to relate to customer needs, dissolve customer concerns, and maintain a high level of focus and attention to detail.
- Maintain a strong work ethic with good time management and the ability to work with diverse teams.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in software development.
- At least 3+ years in chatbot development with IBM Watson Assistant or equivalent.
- Strong background in natural language processing and machine learning.
- Experience in CI/CD pipelines, Git, unit‑testing, and source code management.
- Foundational knowledge of cloud development and deployment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
